Wales is fabulous for experienced and casual cyclists alike. If offers classic cycling in peaceful surroundings with beautiful scenery every mile of the way. There are a variety of routes and trails, many of which are fully way marked. There are some longer routes to follow but many shorter way marked routes too – along canal towpaths, old railway lines, seafront promenades and around reservoirs. Main roads can get a little busy in the summer months but on the smaller, quieter roads there are many routes to explore. The areas around Bryncrug, Bird Rock and the Dysynni valley are lovely routes and very enjoyable. Another first class trail is cross Wales cycle route No 8, which is signposted and way marked. Cycle hire is available locally.
